Qualifications (one of the following) :
- A licensed master's level professional counselor
- A licensed master's level school social worker
- A licensed master's level social worker
- A licensed master's level school counselor with an LPC
Essential Duties :
Assists with the implementation and support of the MiBLSi / MTSS initiative.Is a member of the Process Champions team.Is a member of the District / Building Leadership Team.Is responsible for the SWIS documentation of behavior.Supplies Positive Behavior Intervention Support to all staff.Assists in providing instruction and skills to behaviorally challenged individuals or small groups ofstudents.Administers one-to-one Intensive Behavior Intervention to students.Collects data and records anecdotal student progress notes.Monitors, observes, and reports student behavior to teaching staff and parents.Communicates behavior challenges and successes with children, staff and parents.Provides positive behavior rewards material and communicates its effectiveness with all children, staffand parents.Schedules intervention activities for the Positive Behavior Support System.Coordinates all Link Crew activities for students and staff.Assists with SRSS documentation and MTSS with the building.Knowledge of :
Behavior management techniques.Appropriate developmental skills.Community agencies to assist students having behavior difficulties.Appropriate interpersonal relations using tact, patience, and courtesy.Record-keeping skills.District policies, rules, and administrative guidelines.Child Protective Services / Department of Human Services.Ability to :
Implement positive behavior techniques and trainings.Assist with instructional and related activities to support the Positive Behavior Support System.Monitor and observe student behavior according to approved policies, procedures, and the studenthandbook.Develop rapport and relate to students with all students and families.Be professional, yet empathetic in approach.Terms and conditions of employment are subject to the Hastings Education Associate agreement
