We are seeking a part time Assistant Theater Manager to act as the primary authority in the absence of the Theater Manager, overseeing daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and managing staff during events. This role requires working during evenings and weekends.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Daily Operations:
- Oversee daily theater operations in the absence of the Theater Manager, ensuring all activities run smoothly.
- Monitor ticket and concession sales, ensuring efficiency and high service standards.
- Ensure the theater is clean, well-maintained, and ready for events.
- Staff Management:
- Supervise staff, including box office, concession stand personnel, museum docents, and ushers, to maintain operational efficiency.
- Act as a point of contact for staff issues or questions during shifts.
- Customer Experience:
- Greet patrons and assist with ticketing and concession issues, ensuring a positive guest experience.
- Introduce the evening's screening to the audience.
- Manage guest access points and ensure the smooth flow of patrons
- Provide information about events and the Barrymore Film Center, and assist with membership inquiries as needed.
- Cash Handling & Financial Oversight (In the absence of the Theater Manager):
- Prepare starting and closing banks for cashiers and concessions.
- Monitor cash handling procedures, ensuring security and accuracy.
- Reconcile cash drawers and prepare nightly reports, as needed.
- Event Management:
- Manage guest access points and ensure the smooth flow of patrons during events.
- Address any guest concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
- Supervise the setup and breakdown of events as needed.
- Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including emergency procedures.
- Manage any incident reporting and response as needed.
- Respond to emergencies or incidents, providing support to patrons and staff as needed.
- Communication & Coordination:
- Communicate effectively with the Theater Manager regarding operational needs and issues.
- Ensure all staff are aware of their responsibilities and assist in maintaining a collaborative work environment.
- Uniform Compliance:
- Ensure all staff are adhering to uniform guidelines and present a professional appearance at all times.
Skills Required:
- Proven ability to oversee operations and manage staff effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills to ensure a positive experience for all guests.
- Strong communication abilities to interact with patrons and staff clearly and professionally.
- Understanding of theater operations, including ticketing and concession management.
- Ability to make quick decisions under pressure and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures and financial reporting.
- Ability to stand for long periods and move around the facility as required.
