Job Description:
The Vice President, Global Engineering will lead and build a globally aligned engineering team across all Industrial Converting products. This leader will drive standardization in design philosophy, tools, methods, and metrics, ensuring consistency and quality in product designs for global manufacturing. The role oversees both the sold-work engineering cycle (from customer requirements to final production) and the product development cycle (from concept to production). Additionally, this leader will define and implement an engineering structure that fosters career growth and leverages competencies across all engineering levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and develop the current engineering organization, implementing systems and structures that enhance performance and effectiveness.
- Define an optimal organizational structure to support global flexibility, growth, and career development.
- Promote career paths and competencies at all levels of the engineering team.
- Lead and develop engineering teams (direct and indirect), providing ongoing feedback to ensure a culture of excellence.
- Spearhead the development of global engineering standards, including software tools, design principles, BOM structure, and HMI design.
- Foster a product development approach that balances innovation with standardization and manufacturability.
- Lead project planning, prioritization, and execution to deliver quality results on time.
- Align engineering resources with Sales, Operations, Aftermarket, and other functions to ensure global project management goals are met.
- Implement tools and metrics to improve team performance, capacity, and efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement and lead change management efforts within the engineering function.
- Facilitate the handoff of new products from R&D to engineering.
- Assess talent and development needs for multi-site manufacturing support and product introduction.
Basic Qualifications Requirements
Experience:
- 10 years in global leadership roles in Engineering or Operations, with a proven track record in complex systems or capital equipment manufacturing.
- Experience in driving engineering improvement and implementing best practices across global teams.
Education:
- A technical degree in engineering or a related field is required; an advanced technical degree (Master’s, PhD) or MBA is preferred.
