A brief look at what you’ll do as a Front-of-House Shift Leader at bartaco:
As a FOH Shift Leader, you are responsible for guiding the front-of-house team to deliver outstanding guest experiences through warm hospitality, smooth service execution, and strong teamwork. You’ll support daily service operations, champion our hospitality standards, and work closely with back-of-house leaders to ensure a seamless shift. Your energy, attention to detail, and leadership will help create a fun, efficient, and guest-first environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure every guest receives genuine, friendly, and attentive service, while professionally addressing concerns to drive satisfaction and retention.
- Motivate and lead FOH team members through high-energy, high-volume shifts while fostering a positive, team-oriented environment centered on collaboration and hospitality.
- Monitor the flow of service and guest pacing to maintain a smooth, efficient experience while ensuring bartaco standards are consistently executed across all guest touchpoints.
- Maintain clear, open communication with servers, hosts, bartenders, BOH leaders, and management, while providing real-time feedback and making necessary adjustments to improve the shift.

Operational Management:
- Assist with floor plans, table assignments, and section rotations for optimal coverage
- Support checkouts, side work completion, and cleanliness standards throughout the shift
- Monitor the pace of service and resolve issues as they arise to maintain hospitality standards
- Conduct pre-shift walkthroughs to ensure FOH readiness (menus, cleanliness, ambiance, etc.)
Accountability and Performance:
- Deliver clear feedback and coaching during and after shifts
- Support team development by identifying strengths and areas for growth
- Lead by example and hold team members accountable to the bartaco service expectations
Managerial Responsibilities:
- Partner with a salaried manager during opening and closing shifts to execute the game plan
- Support operational decisions and assist in solving service-related challenges
- Provide detailed shift recaps highlighting wins, challenges, and guest feedback
Engagement and Team Development:
- Lead pre-shift huddles that energize the team and set expectations for the shift
- Encourage open communication and celebrate wins during and after service
- Offer coaching and guidance to help team members grow in their roles
Cross-Department Communication:
- Work in sync with BOH leaders to ensure seamless guest experiences
- Communicate timing, challenges, and feedback to the kitchen and management teams
- Act as a bridge between departments to promote teamwork and service excellence

Requirements
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of kitchen experience required, in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment, cooking methods, and food safety standards
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure, while maintaining attention to detail
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Skills:
- Bringing an energetic hustle and positive attitude to every shift
- Lift and carry items up to 50 pounds
- Walk and stand throughout shifts; remain at assigned stations during busy periods
- Perform tasks requiring continuous movement, such as reaching and bending
