As a host at bartaco, here’s an overview of what you’ll do:


  • Own the Door: Create a warm and memorable first impression by welcoming every guest with a smile and genuine enthusiasm 
  • Manage the Flow: Oversee table availability, manage waitlists and call-ahead seating, and provide accurate wait times to ensure a seamless guest experience 
  • Seating: Escort guests to their tables while engaging in friendly conversation. Anticipate their needs, including seating preferences, highchairs, or accessibility accommodations 
  • Answer the Phone: Provide a warm and helpful phone experience by answering guest inquiries about the menu, hours, or directions 
  • Know Your Stuff: Stay knowledgeable about our menu and confidently offer recommendations, especially to first-time guests 
  • Stay Organized: Keep the host stand clean, organized, and well-stocked with all necessary supplies 
  • Communicate Effectively: Maintain clear and timely communication with managers and servers to meet guest needs promptly

Requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Bringing an energetic hustle and positive attitude to every shift 
  • Lift and carry items up to 25 pounds
  • Walk and stand throughout shifts; remain at assigned stations during busy periods
  • Perform tasks requiring continuous movement, such as reaching, bending, and carrying trays

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Willingness to learn and collaborate with others 
  • While not required, previous restaurant experience is encouraged
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask
