Primary Objective of Position
Maximize hotel revenue for all market segments with particular focus on group. Maintain and grow positive relationships with guests, group clients, and VIPS, as well as opportunities for positive recognition within the local community for the hotel.
Qualifications
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication, follow-up, and organizational skills
- Sets high personal performance goals
- Must be proactive and have a creative, positive, solution-oriented, focused mentality and be a strong team player
- Good computer skills and proficiency
- Minimum 1 year of hotel experience, sales experience is a plus
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs
Responsibilities
- Solicit, negotiate and generate contracted revenues from volume prospects that meet criteria established in the hotel business plan.
- Employ revenue management techniques to recommend rate proposals for all groups and overall hotel.
- Prospect for new business
- Develop, implement and constantly modify sales action plans
- Internally communicate client requirements, including group resumes and BEOs
- Coordinate and participate in sales events such as company partnership events, and Fam Trips
- Conduct competitive analysis and maintain competitor files in order to be able to compete successfully.
- Conduct site visits for potential business
- Coordinate catering functions with F&B department, and ensure events are set up properly
- Manage and service group room blocks and track cutoff dates, pick up and send reminders to clients on a regular basis up until the final cutoff date
- Serves as point of contact (POC) after agreements/contracts are signed and acts as liaison between hotel staff and client while events are taking place
- Participate in weekly revenue meetings
- Attend the Bartell bi-monthly Sales meetings
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with Reputation management as needed
- Assist in managing the digital eco-system
- Monitor hotel's presence in the context of the competition and market
- Develop attractive packages and amenities
- Assist with concepts, proofing, and copywriting tasks for digital campaigns
- E-Communication - assist with ongoing programs, analytics, and propose new strategies
- Assist as part of a team with website, Email Marketing, Social Media and overall Marketing for hotel.
- Work with Food & Beverage on marketing and conveying information about in house promotions
- Coordinate Catering and in house promotions with F&B Manager and Director of Guest Services
