What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Grounds Seasonal (Ap-Oct) PT position at Bartlett Park District Apple Orchard Golf Course?
Job Summary:
The Seasonal Golf/Grounds Laborer is responsible for maintaining and landscaping the golf and grounds at Villa Olivia. Also will perform a variety of basic golf and ground maintenance tasks. This is an at-will position. Other duties and responsibilities include:
- Remove garbage from golf course and facilities.
- Mowing fairways, tees, greens and roughs on a scheduled basis.
- Rake and clean sand traps on a scheduled basis.
- Service ball washers and trash receptacles daily.
- As directed, change cups and relocate tee makers.
- Mowing and trimming of Villa Olivia grounds.
- Turf maintenance help in seeding and establishing new turf.
- Landscaping work planting trees, shrubs and flowers, maintaining landscape beds, and preparing areas for seed and sod.
- Painting picnic tables, benches and buildings, etc.
- General building maintenance such as roof repair, windows and doors, etc.
- General cleaning and minor maintenance within facilities.
- Observe and follow all Park District safety policies and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent. Prior experience in parks maintenance preferred. Must be able to do physical work and able to lift and/ or move up to 50 lbs. Must have a valid Illinois Drivers License and able to provide own transportation.
SCHEDULE & PAY: This is a part-time, seasonal position (approx. now through October). Hours are 6:00am-2:30pm either 3 days a week or 4/5 days a week with some weekends and evenings as needed. Hiring rate starting at $16.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
