Job Summary :
Under direct supervision of a licensed RN, the CNAs will provide basic nursing care to patients and / or residents in accordance with the patient's and / or resident's assessment and treatment plan. In addition, they will support and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and / or residents. Incumbents will be assigned a specific home unit but may be floated to other areas for additional support when needed.
The CNA needs to be proficient in speaking English in order to accurately and effectively communicate with patients and / or residents. Patients include those from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, socio-economic standing, education, etc. Depending on the unit in which they are working, they may be required to learn specific skills necessary to provide the best care to patients and / or residents.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job :
CNA I ($21.64 - $25.46 per hour)
- Education : Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.
- License(s) : Current State of Alaska Certified Nurse Assistant License.
- Certification(s) : Basic Life Support (BLS), Techniques for Effective Aggression Mgt (TEAM) & Behavioral Emergency Response Team (BERT) training within 90 days of hire.
- Experience : No prior experience required. CNA I's are required to complete initial advanced skills training checklists and advance to CNA II level within 6 months.
CNA II ($25.40 - $29.88 per hour)
Internal Hires : Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
