Community association law firm looking for an experienced, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual to join its assessment collection team.
Experience : At least 2 years’ experience as a legal assistant or paralegal. Experience in debt collection ideal.
Description : Assist attorneys and other team members with all aspects of assessment collections against community association (e.g., condos, HOAs, etc.) unit owners, including but not limited to document drafting, clerical work, communications with clients, and communications with debtors. Requires in-person work at the firm office with remote work opportunities.
Duties : Preparing various documents related to collection actions, including but not limited to demand letters to debtors, pleadings and other documents to be filed in eviction, mortgage foreclosure, and bankruptcy proceedings, and correspondence to clients. Filing documents in eviction, foreclosure, and bankruptcy proceedings through applicable electronic filing systems. Performing limited title searches and bankruptcy searches prior to instituting collection actions. Keeping track of pending collection actions, foreclosures, and bankruptcy proceedings using Legalboards application. Entering time and expenses using Clio practice management application. Saving and maintaining files using NetDocs application. Using Word, Outlook, Excel, and other Microsoft applications. Handling other administrative and clerical support tasks.
