What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Manufacturing position at Basco Manufacturing Company?
Leader of multiple manufacturing sites. Responsible for planning and executing measures to ensure a workplace free of safety and environmental incidents. Drives manufacturing operations and develops strategies to fulfill customer demand with perfect quality and the lowest possible cost. Responsible for the planning, management, and control of all plant operations and production goals. Ensures commitment levels of productivity and quality, in addition of the successful execution of continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.
- Lead the promotion of EHS culture. Responsible for maintaining the safest work environment.
- Lead and manage the operations plan within the organizational policies and procedures.
- Lead actions and efforts of the different managers to guarantee production with quality standards and productivity.
- Promote employee development, establish, and perform administration processes.
- Lead the strategies and actions to achieve the plant´s metrics, including Quality, HR, EHS, Production output and
- Productivity according to objectives defined.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant corporate programs and initiatives.
- Support functional areas in the administration and implementation of Quality & EHS management systems.
- Responsible for plant’s P&L (profit & loss performance) at all sites.
- Supervise, approve, and manage the annual operating plan for the plant, including spending, capital expenditures, employees, etc.
- Ensure continuous improvement process in all plants, through Kaizen events, team activities and lean 6 Sigma
- Projects
- Ensure that investment projects are aligned to business strategy.
- Responsible for managing the manufacturing team at the Mason site and overseeing the other off-site manufacturing
- leaders.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
- Knowledge - EHS Systems, Lean Manufacturing, Finance, Six Sigma Tools, Quality Management Systems. 6 sigma
- Green or Black Belt certification desirable.
- Education - Bachelor Degree. Master degree desirable.
- Experience - At least 5 years as Plant Manager with 100 or more employees or 10 years as Production Manager or similar areas, desirable experience in glass, building products, shower door or window processes and Six Sigma tools
- management.
- Successful experience with human resources and material resources management
- Successful experience with performance objectives such as: safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost.
- Excellent Communication and Presentation skills required.
- Excellent computer skills including Google Suite required.
