Information Technology Manager

Bascom Hunter is an aerospace and defense system integrator and component manufacturer with a focus on environmental control systems and defense electronics.

We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead and manage our IT operations with a strong focus on CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) and NIST 800-171 compliance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing IT infrastructure, IT security, and compliance initiatives, ensuring our systems meet all regulatory requirements. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, cybersecurity knowledge, and leadership skills to manage IT resources and projects effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

IT & Cybersecurity Compliance:

• Lead efforts to achieve and maintain compliance with CMMC and NIST 800-171 standards.
• Develop, implement, and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and controls.
• Conduct risk assessments and gap analyses to identify security vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with external auditors and government agencies to ensure compliance.
• Manage security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSP) and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M).
• Provide ongoing training and awareness programs related to cybersecurity best practices.

IT Operations & Infrastructure:

• Oversee IT systems, networks, and infrastructure to ensure security, scalability, and efficiency.
• Implement and manage security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection.
• Ensure system reliability, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning.
• Lead IT asset management, including hardware, software, and licensing compliance.

Leadership & Strategy:

• Manage IT System Admin, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
• Develop IT strategies aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to implement secure IT solutions.
• Stay updated on emerging threats, technologies, and cybersecurity best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in IT management, cybersecurity, or a related role.
• Strong knowledge of CMMC and NIST 800-171 compliance frameworks.
• Experience with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tools and audit processes.
• Hands-on experience with network security, firewalls, endpoint protection, and access controls.
• Proficiency in Windows/Linux environments, cloud computing (AWS, Azure), and virtualization.
• Ability to develop policies, conduct risk assessments, and manage cybersecurity documentation.
