Laboratory Supervisor, Care Chemicals, BASF - Washington Plant, NJ (Onsite)

As a Lab Supervisor, you create chemistry by...

• Leading the site quality team ensuring all released products meet specifications, regulatory requirements, and certification requirements for ISO 9001, European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients (EFfCI) and Kosher.  
• Serving as the site quality assurance representative to release cGMP relevant batches and support related cGMP activities such as approving qualification and validation documents. 
• Assuring applicable BASF, state, and federal safety/environmental regulations are met; overseeing the handling of laboratory hazardous wastes and participate in regulatory reporting requirements as needed.
• Overseeing the lab data generation and creation of Certificates of Analysis, meeting specific requirements for a wide customer base.
• Supporting site production and shipping needs by leading laboratory activities to address special testing needs and/or production problems; develop and maintain relevant site procedures.
• Investigating and addressing customer complaints; leading customer audits and tracking action items and targets.
• Collaborating with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions as necessary; provide site administration for the electronic document management system.
• Performing routine quality control analyses, when necessary, supporting production and shipping operations and back-up for lab technicians; provide lab instrument troubleshooting as needed.  

If you have...

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field coupled with preferably a minimum of 5 years of experience. Prior supervisory experience preferred. 
• Strong knowledge of quality assurance and quality control principles, particularly in a chemical production environment.  Experience with SAP QM and/or LabWare LIMS preferred.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, GMP) and industry standards applicable to chemical production.
• Proficient in laboratory instrumentation and analysis techniques relevant to chemical testing.
