The Regulatory Science Seeds and Traits (RSS) Statistical Scientist I (internally as Regulatory Scientist I) role will be responsible for providing statistical support to the design and analysis of regulatory studies and data solutions in support of global deregulation and approval of seed and trait agricultural products. These studies provide the basis for the regulatory safety assessments of our products worldwide. Areas of accountability include (i) consultation on study design, (ii) statistical analysis, review, and validation of study data, (iii) writing and review of statistical reports or statistical sections of study reports, and (iv) Current knowledge on statistical requirements from regulatory authorities and formulate responses to regulatory questions. The Statistical Scientist I will support RSS studies in compliance with quality standards and regulatory guidance. The work occurs within a global network of people, including study directors, scientists, product safety managers, regulatory affairs managers and quality assurance, etc.

As a Regulatory Scientist I, you create chemistry by...

  • Providing statistical support for regulatory studies globally, Working independently to apply sound statistical methods and generate tables, listings, and figures. Preparing high quality statistical reports and relevant supporting documents.
  • Providing statistical and consulting expertise to support the safety evaluation of seed and trait products. Participating in experimental design, protocol development, and writing study reports. Interacting with study directors, scientists, product safety managers, regulatory affairs managers, and quality assurance.
  • Exploring and developing innovative methods and digital solutions to support regulatory statistical needs within the scope of work.
  • Contributing to answering statistics related questions from regulatory authorities and writing responses. Utilizing technical expertise, analytical and strategic thinking.
  • Reviewing, validating, and QCing statistical analysis results generated by other team members. Ensuring high quality statistical packages that meet quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

If you...

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or closely related field with at least 6-8 years of relevant, hands-on experience, as described below, or a
  • Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or closely related field with at least 2 years of relevant, hands-on experience, as described below.
  • Familiar with experimental design, linear models, generalized linear models, non-linear models, multivariate, categorical data analyses, simulation, data management and data visualization.
  • Consulting experience related to experimental design, statistical analysis, and interpretation.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan project activities and timelines.
  • Proficiency in SAS is required. R and/or Python programming languages is a plus.
  • Skilled in data management, data mining and development of digital tools.
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing machine learning and artificial intelligence for predictive analytics and process improvement is preferred.
  • Self-organization, planning and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail.
  • Constructive and proven team working attitude.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers from various backgrounds.
  • Skilled in technical writing and documentation.
