Objectives of the Position
Responsible for ensuring relevant market, customer and competitive data is captured with a high level of accuracy, analyzed and distributed to the right stakeholders for India. Support the forecasting activities and improve overall data management. Provide market intelligence to key stakeholders and support strategic Marketing initiatives. Analyze and provide insights into the performance and strategy of our customers and competitors (customer trends, monitoring market drivers, analyzing competitive results, etc.) mainly for Light and Heavy Duty segments in India.
The incumbent must demonstrate intimate understanding of Indian market environment as well as Indian customer’s needs and respective data. The position works closely with cross-functional stakeholders. The position functionally reports to regional marketing manager for the Mobile Emission Catalysts business.
Roles & Responsibiliites
- Develop, implement, and lead new global processes to ensure that relevant market and customer data is captured, analyzed and distributed to the right stakeholders.
- Responsible for ensuring data collection for budgeting and forecasting process for our catalyst market and internal business in close interaction with our account teams, supply chain and controlling.
- Data management of a market model for our target customers. Provide India market intelligence and input to the regional/global marketing organization to assist in the development of global strategies, goals and processes. Support the implementation of processes and systems to identify and monitor primary market drivers.
- Analyzing and reporting the performance and strategy of our customers and competitors. Develop Supply/demand balance reports, market report summaries, competitor intelligence.
- Maintain and continuously improve the relevant modules in CatMaps: (esp. Marketing and Sales input, Global Competition Database, interfaces to Price Approval Database)
- Development of annual baseline data together with sales, supply chain and controlling for the 5-year planning
- Supports development of management presentations and status reports
- Ensure transparency of marketing initiatives, especially profitability improvement actions, initiated by global segments and affecting India
- Acts as main interface between India operational teams (production, supply chain, quality, other country functions) and regional marketing segments
- Coordinates India prioritization of profitability improvement actions in case of bottlenecks in execution
- Drive analysis of India marketing intelligence and competitive intelligence to assist in the development of global goals of targets and processes
- Responsible for understanding and explaining the customers and market environment for India, providing country view into customer segmentation – including unmet needs assessment, competitive profiles, SWOT, etc.
- Lead and develop strategic marketing initiatives in India (e.g. investment case and tracking) via collaboration with global segments to optimize market share and profitability with a focus on long-term growth while maintaining short-term profits and sales objectives
Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position
Education: MBA desired or bachelor’s with relevant experience in marketing / sales.
Working Experience: Minimum 8 years, in marketing or data analytical experience in either chemical or automotive related industries. Experience in a marketing or sales function, especially in the fields of market, customer, and pricing intelligence highly desirable.
