BASK Front Desk Job Description:
The front desk position at BASK is a person who receives and attends to guests who walk into the salon to have services done by BASK service providers, answers inquiries the guests may have about services rendered in the salon and is knowledgeable about the products on the shelves in order to answer questions and make sales. It is her job to ensure that guests do not experience difficulties while in the salon by giving them the information they need and makes them feel comfortable and welcome. She does this in a very friendly manner to make guests feel comfortable. She also supports the service providers in any capacity that she can. This includes, but is not limited to, folding towels, pre-booking guests, ringing out guests, sweeping the floor and calling and moving guests when there is a schedule conflict.
She exhibits a high level of phone etiquette as she answers incoming calls to the salon from guests who want to make inquiries or make an appointment to visit the salon. The role also includes maintaining high level of professionalism; also expected to exude calmness and cordiality. She understands the importance of first impressions and as such, carries herself uprightly to make a positive impression to the guests by dressing professionally (jeans only on Saturdays.) When guests make inquiries, she freely interacts with them and exhibits good knowledge of hair care by making meaningful statements and provides useful answers to hair related questions they might ask. It is her responsibility to supervise the cleaning of the salon, ensuring it is made tidy early enough before work begins for the day, as this will influence guest perception of the salon.
DUTIES:
Greet guests as they step into the salon, take any inquiries and make them feel comfortable while they wait to be attended to. Offer guest a refreshment as they wait for their stylist and offer them magazines to read.
Make sure the common areas at the salon remain clean and clutter free.
Answer the telephone and attend to inquiries made over the phone in a professional manner.
Schedule appointments for guests with service providers by either pre-booking or when a guest calls.
Be knowledgeable about various hair and skin care products and give clients useful advice about the products if a guest would seek your opinion. Ring up and sell products to guests.
Check all products and supplies in the salon to ensure that they are not out of stock and inform management of products in shortage for them to place orders for more supplies. Make sure products are stocked.
Make sure all linens are laundered and folded in a timely manner.
Create and/or send out reminder messages such as texts and emails to the salon guests, reminding them of their bookings and appointments just in case they have forgotten.
Become proficient at Salon Iris.
Take the tips class or liquor training from the City of Fort Collins Police Department.

Pay: From $13.00 per hour
