POSITION SUMMARY:
The Electrical Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, documentation, implementation, and continuous improvement of electrical systems in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with industry regulations, enhances product functionality, and collaborates across teams to drive efficiency and innovation in electrical design and manufacturing processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Electrical System Design & Implementation:
- Design, document, and implement electrical systems for new and existing products, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance.
- Develop and integrate complex electrical systems, including signal integration with advanced electronics and circuitry.
- Review technical drawings (2D CAD, Arcadia, 3DX, Rhino) for functionality, compliance, and quality.
- Regulatory Compliance & Testing:
- Ensure compliance with USCG, ABYC, CE, and other industry regulations.
- Validate system interfaces (Mercury, Yamaha, BMC) and conduct performance testing.
- Manufacturing & Process Optimization:
- Evaluate and improve manufacturing and assembly processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure high product quality.
- Develop innovative installation methods and support production teams.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Serve as the primary electrical engineering contact for vendors, customers, and internal teams.
- Effectively communicate technical details across departments, including New Product Development, Materials, Warehouse, and Production Teams.
- Troubleshooting & Support:
- Diagnose and resolve electrical system issues related to product design, manufacturing, and customer concerns.
- Provide technical support for production and field service teams.
- Documentation & Training:
- Develop and maintain BOMs, schematics, and work instructions to support production and service teams.
- Train and supervise technicians on system implementation.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Research and integrate new technologies and best practices to enhance product performance and manufacturability.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to drive engineering advancements.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
- Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Aerospace Engineering. Equivalent degrees with a core focus on electrical and circuit coursework will also be considered.
- Previous experience in the marine industry preferred.
- Years of experience: 3 years of experience working with 2D/3D electrical design in industries such as Marine, Automotive, Agricultural, Construction, or other related industries where electrical system design was a core job function.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including circuit design, power distribution, and control systems.
- Previous work experience in electrical engineering, preferably with marine electrical systems or vehicle electrical integration.
- Proficient in electrical design software such as SolidWorks Electrical, Rhino, AutoCAD, Arcadia, and 3DX.
- Experience with embedded systems, CAN bus communication protocols, and power distribution systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate multiple solutions and drive continuous improvement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information to a diverse audience.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality, safety, and compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, procurement, and product development.
