In Room Dining Runner - Uncle Bucks

POSITION SUMMARY: To ensure all guests are greeted in a friendly and courteous manner using appropriate procedures in accordance with Big Cedar Standards. Answer phones when needed, take food orders and prepare trays for delivery. Handle payment transactions and assist with opening and closing procedures. Must have a clean driving record

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Take Room Service orders over phone when needed in a professional manner ensuring all information is correct.
• Must know the Room Service Menu.
• Prepare trays for delivery, and deliver orders
• Pick up Room Service Trays.
• Smile and greet all guests in a pleasant manner.
• Properly set table for guest when delivering trays.
• Check-out/in, fuel, and operate numerous vehicles safely.
• Perform other duties as required.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required:    High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Preferred Degree:  High School Diploma or Equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Ability to work on feet for extended periods of time, work safely, communicate effectively, understand and carry out written and oral directions, and establish good working relationships with co-workers
• Lift, reach, bend, twist, push, pull, squat, grasp and use arm-hand coordination on a consistent basis
• Have the ability to lift up to 50lbs pounds frequently.
• Knowledge of Big Cedar and Top of Rock property for any guest questions.
• Be able to work weekends and holidays, mornings and evenings as business demands.
• Writing - Communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
• Basic Computer Skills - Using basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, etc.). Knowledge of our POS system.
• Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
• Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
• Analytical/Critical Thinking - The ability to gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complex data; examine data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriate conclusions; generate alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths, weaknesses and consequences of alternative solutions and approaches to solving problems.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: This position is a driving position. A company vehicle will be provided for associate to deliver all orders to guests. Travel is not limited to Big Cedar Lodge property.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly: Walking, Standing, Lifting up to 50lbs

Occasionally: Computer Work

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT: Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
