Position Purpose
Responsible for assisting in the programming, start-up, and maintenance of Building Automation & Controls projects as assigned. Collaborate with other technicians during design, programming, start-up, and commissioning of control systems.
Position Responsibilities
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve various control system operational problems.
- Assist in the service of control systems that are under Bassett contract.
- Assist in the coordination, install and start-up of control systems as requested.
- Assist in programming, design, coordination, wiring and other installation work as assigned.
- Assist in controls maintenance on control contracts as time and schedule will allow.
- Attend controls classes and/or apprenticeship classes as required to increase knowledge of HVAC and controls.
- Support and maintain a safe and Lean working environment.
- Mechanical equipment start-up and checkout.
- Other duties as assigned.
Summary of Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Good electrical and controls knowledge.
- Good organizational skills.
- Associate Degree or equivalent experience with HVAC and control systems
- Carrier Controls KMC and/or Niagara programming experience preferred but not required.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to understand training and instructions on controls programming as furnished through controls department.
- Strong computer skills.
- Must be physically able to enter restricted areas (air handlers, ducts and confined spaces) for first hand observation or inspection (required safety training would be provided prior to this)
- Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record
