Responsibilities :
To provide technical guidance, assistance and input to operation of the Bassett Health Network (BHN) 340B Program. The 340B Program Analyst is responsible for program operations relating to the day-to-day utilization and optimization of technology platforms and data extraction that is designed to identify and qualify 340B eligible dispensations for all covered entities at BHN. This involves conducting daily and scheduled audits, as well as reviewing medication orders for replenishment. Audits will cover HMH's 340B mixed-use setting, retail, and contract pharmacy arrangements. The person in this role will work closely with the 340B Program Coordinator and other Covered Entity Pharmacy staff to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for growth in BHN's network-wide 340B pharmacy program. This role will also work closely to support the 340B Program Coordinator as needed with program administrative functions, financial reporting responsibilities, and other 340B compliance eligibility requirements to ensure the program is optimally utilized.
- Audits all points of service where 340B participation occurs to ensure compliance with 340B program requisites, including entity and patient qualifications, and ensure consistent processes are followed across all.
- Audits purchasing records to ensure compliance.
- Assists with the implementation of action plans to correct 340B compliance deficiencies, if indicated. Participates in developing quarterly and annual 340B participation reports documenting utilization, savings, and exceptions or discrepancies.
- Audits of 340B formulary pricing, potential alternatives, and possible additional savings as a result of formulary and 340B prime vendor program on a routine basis.
- Helps to identify companies that offer 340B or equivalent pricing and develop strategies to maximize participation.
- Provides timely and accurate communication, both written and verbal as appropriate, regarding changes and continuous quality improvement activities, including goals and objectives of the 340B program.
- Shares information regarding costs and availability of drug products that may impact various areas of Bassett Healthcare with appropriate individuals and / or departments in a timely manner.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining pharmaceutical acquisition accounts that are required based on each covered entitys eligibility classification.
- Ensures the relevant accounts receive necessary EDI transmission and established correctly in the respective third-party administrator (TPA) software platform.
- Collaborates with the EPIC Willow Information Technology Team on charge description master (CDM) changes for new products, product changes, etc., that ensures the efficiency and accuracy of the charge process.
- Performs audits or compliance assessments of specific drug charging / administrative functions and ensures the accuracy of the Charge Drug Master (CDM) as it relates to unit of use, NDC, HCPCS code, waste, and other CDM programmatic charge build functionality.
- Utilizes, and maintains a working knowledge of computerized systems, split-billing software programs, and specialized equipment and technologies utilized in operations related to the 340B program in collaboration with the Pharmacy 340BP program Manager and Information Services.
- Assists with ordering 340B drugs from the specific accounts as specified by the process employed.
- Performs similar or related duties as requested.
- Performs other duties as requested and observed by supervisor or manager.
- Serves as a back-up to the 340B Program Coordinator and provides support when needed.
