Bassford Remele, a top law firm in Minneapolis with 50 attorneys, has an opportunity for an Associate Attorney with at least two years litigation experience. Bassford Remele is a full-service litigation firm providing trial and appellate representation for regional and national clients in a wide array of complex business litigation. Our Consumer Finance Practice Group is dedicated to the defense of creditors, financial institutions, collection agencies, attorneys, hospitals, and other businesses facing lawsuits and regulatory actions brought under consumer-protection statutes. Specifically, we represent clients in numerous jurisdictions facing lawsuits brought under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and other related laws.
Our attorneys have defended thousands of consumer lawsuits and regulatory actions in these areas in state and federal courts around the United States, including class actions and a number of appeals.
The Ideal Candidate Will:

- Be self-motivated, coachable, and committed to producing top-tier work product;
- Possess strong research and writing skills;
- Take a proactive approach to case management; and
- Be interested in taking depositions, presenting oral argument, and trying cases as performance warrants.
Why Bassford Remele?
Joining our team means working alongside, learning from, and supporting experienced litigators Jessica L. Klander and Patrick D. Newman, who co-chair the Consumer Finance Practice Group.
Our firm is committed to professional development, offering opportunities to engage in complex litigation and to contribute to shaping consumer finance law nationwide. In other words, Bassford is not a firm where associates are expected to do legal research and sit behind a more senior attorney for a decade plus before gaining real litigation experience.
As part of the Consumer Finance Practice Group, you will take on direct responsibility for client files, including direct client contact, advising, and management, as well as working up case strategy, taking depositions, drafting and arguing dispositive motions, and trying cases as soon as you demonstrate the capability and coachability.
