System Engineer -Team Lead Deep Space

The System Engineering Team Lead for Gateway Project Wireless Access Point supporting deep space exploration on the JETS II contract in Houston, Texas.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• The Systems Engineering Team Lead will be managing the SE activities of the Gateway Program Wireless Access Point (WAP).
• Support engineering flight project schedule, procurement documentation, budget and system requirements documents.
• Develop and support sub-project requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification / validation, operations, and sustaining engineering. Conduct product life cycle reviews, coordinate integration, verification, and validation activities.
• Work with requirements to align with hardware specifications while understanding the verifications.
• Perform system engineering functions of projects and provide user input feedback during the design process.
• Work with ground testing and flight operations testing of hardware with end item documentation.
• Review verification and validation reports to verify compliance with requirements.
• Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews.
• Perform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall electrical design and performance.
• Participate in test, verification, and operation of the as-built hardware.
• Work with team members and leads to identify risks, develop risk statements, and plan risk responses.
• Work and present schedule and progress to customers.
• Other duties as assigned.
