BASIC FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY: Serve as the primary contact for the Technology Department. Perform administrative duties related to the daily operation of the technology department office and provide clerical services to the director of information services and other staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of Information Services department policies and procedures
- Knowledge of the latest developments in technology
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications (various systems i.e. PC, Apple, Linux, etc.)
- Knowledge of computer mobile devices (various systems i.e. Apple, Android, Windows, etc.)
- Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills
- Knowledge of correct English usage, grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Basic math skills
- Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and do word processing
Experience:
- 2-3 years of secretarial experience, preferably in a public education environment

Support of Administrative, Fiscal and/or Facilities Functions:
- Meet and greet customers both in person and over the phone.
- Answer incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff; handle questions and requests that fall within level of responsibility.
- Work cooperatively with end-users to provide telephone support via the District’s Technology Help Desk.
- Process technology-related work orders and assign priority to work orders.
- Maintain phone log records and use data to identify areas for improvement including training and maintenance support.
- Assist in the development of training material and user documentation via the District’s Technology Help Desk.
- Assist the Inventory Team to arrange for contract repairs for work that cannot be performed by district staff.
- Assist the Inventory Team with purchasing, inventory, shipping and receiving tasks.
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail and other documents to department staff.
- Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service; Document all work performed and keep accurate inventory records.
- Keep abreast of current and upcoming technology and standards to enhance operations.
- Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety procedures.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing and carrying.
- Handle multiple projects with rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.
- Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
