What You’ll Do

You will develop, manage, and execute strategic and tactical initiatives to help manage your assigned practice. You will act as a surrogate for the Practice Chair(s), streamlining decision-making processes while also serving as an intermediary between the practice and operational departments (Finance, Legal, Marketing, and Human Resources.) You will:

  • Actively engage in diverse practice responsibilities spanning management and business operations, enhancing financial performance, driving business development and client relationship management, and fostering staff development.
  • Analyze data using Excel and Power BI to provide actionable insights that align with firm and Practice Chairs' priorities.
  • Manage practice finances, focusing on critical metrics like work-in-progress (WIP), A/R, and liaising with the Finance Department for optimal financial performance.
  • Oversee risk mitigation activities in compliance with firm protocols, focusing on data management.
  • Oversee staff development, assist with staffing needs, and support professional growth and training.
  • Initiate and draft practice strategy presentations, understanding past and present operational challenges and outcomes.
  • Strategically support and facilitate high-impact meetings, including agenda planning and post-meeting follow-ups.
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency, collaborating with other managers to cultivate and disseminate best practices.
  • Acquire knowledge of case concepts, industry terminology, and Partner-specific business portfolios.
  • Monitor important practice events and client deliverables
  • Ensure strong internal communication and reporting.
  • Develop robust relationships across the practice and firm to enhance strategic alignment and collaboration.
  • Support business development by coordinating with Marketing, monitoring BD initiatives, and developing practice-specific content.
  • Organize and participate in practice and firmwide events, maintaining staff engagement and morale.

What You’ll Bring To The Table

  • Bachelor’s degree, finance or business preferred.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Minimum seven years of experience in a directly related position with a demonstrated track record of managing day-to-day operations.
  • Experience in professional services preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to create Excel pivot tables, charts, graphs, and customizable Power BI reports.
  • Detail-oriented and results-driven project management with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make well-informed decisions that consider risks, benefits, and potential outcomes in varying business environments, even with incomplete information.
  • Proven track record of building and sustaining strong relationships within revenue-generating client service areas as well as operational areas to ensure collaboration and strategic alignment.
  • Strong and effective communication skills, including the ability to confidently convey external requests or information to the assigned practice area.
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances and needs within revenue-generating client service areas and the larger organization.
  • Excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills and the ability to excel in a team-oriented, collaborative, and fast-paced environment.
  • May require more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.

  • Competitive compensation—the salary range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000. This position is also eligible for bonus compensation on a discretionary basis. The actual salary offered for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, education, external market data, and internal equity.
