Job Overview
We are a rapidly growing, locally owned home services company seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting with expertise in QuickBooks Online and a proven ability to maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, and support financial decision-making across multiple entities. Duties
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
- Stay updated on relevant accounting regulations and best practices.
Manage Financial Transactions
- Record day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank deposits in QuickBooks Online.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all financial transactions and documents, following accrual basis accounting principles.
Payroll Processing
- Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain payroll records and resolve discrepancies or issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with HR or relevant departments to ensure accurate employee information for payroll.
Reconciliation and Reporting
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts with QuickBooks Online.
- Generate and present financial reports, ensuring accurate tracking of revenue and expenses across multiple locations.
- Provide detailed multi-location financial reports to assist in operational and strategic decision-making.
Accounts Management
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable promptly.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and manage collections when necessary.
- Prepare and issue invoices to clients, ensuring timely payments.
Fixed Asset Management
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate recording of asset acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Conduct periodic reviews and reconciliations of fixed assets.
- Assist in the preparation of fixed asset reports for audits and financial planning.
System Maintenance and Support
- Ensure QuickBooks Online is properly set up and maintained, including managing software updates and backups.
- Troubleshoot and resolve QuickBooks Online-related issues, including multi-location tracking and reporting configurations.
Collaboration
- Work closely with the finance and management teams to provide insights and assist in decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with external accounting and tax firms to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and support for audits or specialized tax requirements.
- Provide support for audits and collaborate with external accountants or tax professionals.
Skills
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Quick Books Online
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of private equity accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
