What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Care Associate - Obstetrics (FT Days) position at Baton Rouge General Medical Center - Mid City?
PCA on mother-baby/surgical unit.
*Obtain and document vital signs according to age-appropriate skills
*Monitor and document intake and output
*Assist patient/families with ADLs
*Assist with initiation and removal of non-invasive monitoring equipment, as directed
*Report changes in patient's condition in a timely manner to appropriate primary nurse
*Assist with collection of specimens and transport of specimens
*Ensures patient safety
*Assists with transport of patients as directed
*Performs waste removal from all areas of patient care area
*Stocks and maintains supplies, assists with the cleanliness of the work environment
*Actively participates in maintaining a clean, organized environment
*HIPAA
*Will be trained for specialty area skills required during orientation (newborn hearing screens, assist with circumcisions)
Must be motivated, respectful, and hard working. Excellent communication and listening skills are required.
Mother-Baby/Surgical floor specialty care.
