Job Summary
The Security Custodian/Assistant Special Security Officer will support the West Desert Test Center (WDTC) as part of the Mission Support Services (MSS) contract at Dugway Proving Grounds (DPG). Duties include managing all classified documents stored in the classified area (Secret and Top Secret), ensuring they are properly marked, properly stored and properly tracked on the classified holdings list. Must have a Top-Secret security clearance. Managing the classified holdings list and the classified computer systems. The individual is also responsible for ensuring the classified area passes all inspection criteria related to Information Security and Operations Security. This includes the collateral secret classroom, and Alternative Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM) vault and office area and the Secret Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).

Responsibilities
- Managing the classified holdings list and the classified computer systems.
- Maintain both formal and informal communications and relationships with clients including responsibility for reports and presentations.
- Achieve high compliance in management of classified areas and documents.
- Train less experienced staff in various aspects of research, as assigned.
- Provide input to management for staff performance evaluations as requested.
- High school diploma; 5 years of applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field
- Standards of fitness including the ability to stand and walk up to 90% of the work shift.
- Successful completion of a medical and psychological screening.
- Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office applications.
- Courtesy, tact, and effectiveness in dealing with others.
- Ability to meet all training and regulatory standards.
- Eligibility to obtain and keep a Secret level security clearance.
- Valid Ohio driver’s license.
- Firearms qualifications (site/role specific).
- Ability to employ active thinking, to exercise reasonable judgement, and to maintain composure in stressful situations.
- Must have demonstrated complete proficiency as a Security Officer II and the ability to lead and direct others.
- Must have a Top Secret security clearance.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen. The selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet and maintain eligibility requirements to be placed in a Public Trust Position. In addition, applicant selected may be subjected to qualification in accordance with Army Regulation 50-6, for placement in the U.S. Army Chemical Personnel Reliability Program (CPRP).
- Flexibility to respond to urgent project requests and/or changing priorities.
- Drug-free workplace, urine testing for drugs is mandatory.
- This position involves work near or with toxic and hazardous materials. Must wear seat belts when driving or riding in vehicles on post.
