Batteries Plus is looking for an HR Coordinator to provide the link between employer and employee!
The HR Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes. This position resolves employee questions and supports the recruitment function. The HR Coordinator will often be the first point of contact for employees, leaders and candidates. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.

Responsibilities:
Employee Relations
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
- Triage employee relations intake to resolve minor situations while escalating more complex situations to the appropriate HR Business Partner
Recruiting Support
- Assists with recruitment and interview process
- Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process
- Develops and posts job requisitions
- Conducts phone screens with candidates
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files
- Monitors background check results and coordinates review of results
- Schedules intake meetings, candidate interviews, and pre-employment assessments
- Writes correspondence with candidates including turn down notifications and offer letters
- Leads pre-employment and onboarding process
Administration
- Tracks and supports coordination of employee leaves, workers compensation and conducts follow up with employees and leaders as needed
- Files documents into appropriate employee files
- Assists or prepares correspondence as requested
- Prepares new-employee files
- Processes employee changes within the HRIS system including hires, promotions, transfers and terminations
- Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action
- Tracks completion of employee documentation and benefit enrollments
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree with coursework in Human Resources
- 2 years general HR experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
- Knowledge of employment law
- HR Certification preferred (SHRM or HRCI)
