The Battle Creek Unlimited (BCU) team is growing. We are looking for passionate, dynamic PEOPLE who thrive in a fast-paced, fun environment and want to help make our community a better place. We need someone who has strong customer service and communication skills, a desire to learn new skills, demonstrates resourcefulness, and the ability to complete assignments with minimal direction.
The Position: The Office Assistant role embodies a wide variety of work. It provides technical support for Board of Directors-related activities, BCU Executives, and program staff. Other tasks include office administration including being the first point of contact for the organization (greeting visitors and answering the telephone), ordering/maintaining supplies, assisting the finance department with inputting invoice information, helping update websites/social media, and other marketing initiatives, coordination of organizational activities, research, and special projects as assigned.
Candidate: Our ideal candidate is a highly self-motivated team player, well-organized, detail oriented, and personable, with the desire and excitement to continue growing and developing their skills in economic/community development. The applicant must have the temperament and flexibility to work effectively in a fast-paced and energetic environment; must be a self-starter, requiring minimal direction for completing assignments; ability to prepare clear and concise written and oral reports; strong multi-tasking skills, meets deadlines, and performs under pressure; and the ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information. Absolute integrity and discretion is essential.
Qualifications: Three (3) years of full-time professional work experience in a closely related area of public administration, community or economic development, and/or business is desired. High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
Pay Range: $45,000-$55,000 commensurate with experience. We offer exceptional benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid time-off, paid sick-time, life insurance, and a generous 401K package. Desired residency established in the City of Battle Creek within six months of hire.
