School Profile: The Early Learning Center at Battle Ground Academy is an extension of Battle Ground Academy—a co-educational, college preparatory, independent school serving students in grades K-12 in historic Franklin, Tennessee. The ELC is currently comprised of three pre-K classrooms, each with a lead and associate teacher. Position Summary: Associate Teachers support classroom teams by collaborating with lead teachers to prepare for instruction, working with individual students and small groups to differentiate instruction, and teaching in the absence of the lead teacher. Associate duties may include preparing learning materials, recess, assisting with lunch, and facilitating large and small group experiences. We seek a compassionate teacher with a growth mindset who is committed to children, collaboration, flexibility, self-reflection, and joyful learning for the 2025-2026 school year.

- Assists in the implementation of the daily program, including small and large group experiences, in collaboration with Lead Teachers
- Facilitates developmentally appropriate activities to meet the diverse needs of learners

- Demonstrates initiative to fulfill typical responsibilities and willingness to problem-solve atypical situations
- Substitutes for Lead Teachers as needed
- Maintains instructional competence through professional growth activities
- Executes associated duties such as morning care, preparing learning materials, monitoring recess, and assisting with lunch as required
- Upholds the highest standards of professionalism, collegiality, and personal conduct
- Fulfills other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Technology skills, including the use of Google Suite tools, are preferred.
- Ability to work with collegial teams
- Ideal candidates have the attributes of flexibility, humor, collaboration, creativity, passion for teaching, and love for children

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Should be able to sit, squat, bend, and be able to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs
- The job may require more than 40 hours per week.

- May stand or work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
