Position Overview: BGA is seeking a dynamic and visionary STEM Director to lead and advance our science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs. This leadership role will focus on delivering an innovative and future-focused curriculum while cultivating essential external partnerships to expand opportunities for our students. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional classroom instructor, technologically proficient, and possess the ability to inspire and steer the direction of our STEM initiatives for years to come.
Key Responsibilities:
- Innovative Instruction: Serve as a dynamic classroom teacher, delivering engaging, hands-on STEM lessons that inspire curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in students.
- Program Leadership: Lead the development and growth of the school’s STEM curriculum, ensuring that it stays current with emerging trends and technologies.
- Technological Proficiency: Stay at the forefront of educational technology and tools, ensuring that students are equipped with the skills needed for success in the 21st century.
- Student Engagement: Lead initiatives to enhance student interest and participation in STEM fields, including organizing STEM fairs, clubs, competitions, and extracurricular programs.
- Equity & Access: Ensure that STEM opportunities are accessible to all students, fostering a culture of inclusivity and support.
- Partnership Development: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key external partners, including parent and alumni networks, universities, businesses, and community organizations, to provide real-world STEM opportunities and resources for students.
- Professional Development: Support and mentor faculty in integrating STEM-focused methodologies and technologies into their teaching practices.
- Vision-Casting: In partnership with Divisional Administration develop and implement a forward-thinking vision for the future of the school’s STEM programs, aligning with industry advancements and educational best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience as a classroom teacher with a focus on STEM subjects.
- Strong background in technology integration and hands-on learning approaches.
