Description
Bauer Welding & Metal Fabricators, the premier contract manufacturer in metal fabrication for over 75 years, is looking for a full-time Customer Service Representative. This person will assist customers in successfully placing purchase orders, research and resolve customer issues, and collaborate across the organization to ensure on-time and in-full product delivery.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter new purchase orders into the ERP system (Epicor) and confirm order acknowledgements are sent and/or customer portals are updated, and properly file order documentation.
- Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries related to active orders, including requests for schedule changes.
- Partner with Account Management to communicate order status changes to customers proactively.
- Review demand forecasts from key customer portals and update the ERP system with new orders or changes.
- Review customer-generated open order reports and enter new releases as needed.
- Coordinate outbound shipments with customers who provide their own carriers or reusable dunnage.
- Maintain price lists in ERP for key accounts.
- Collaborate with Account Management, Estimating, Scheduling, and Operations to successfully fulfill customer orders on time and in full.
- Perform other duties as needed / assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelors’ degree preferred.
- Two (2) or more years successful experience in customer service / order entry role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience with ERP software, Epicor MES strongly preferred.
- Active listening to customer needs and concerns to ensure they feel heard and valued.
- Demonstrate genuine understanding of customer issues and desire to resolve them successfully.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude, even in challenging situations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; clear, concise communication across all channels.
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail, able to manage changing priorities day to day.
- Ability to balance multiple concurrent projects, prioritize needs and meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Working Conditions: Office environment with extensive sitting at desk and computer, some walking, standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally. Occasional manufacturing environment requiring safety glasses.

Actual pay will be based on experience and qualifications, but will be in the range of $23.54 to $29.43 per hour.
