Golf Course Maintenance

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and reliable intern to join our team for a seasonal position starting in April 2025 and running through September or October 2025. In this role, you will assist in various tasks to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of a private golf course and its facilities, along with field work and labor at a local sod business. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a beautiful outdoor environment and a chance to learn from a manager with decades of experience in the golf and turf industry.

Responsibilities:

• Course Maintenance: Perform general maintenance tasks on the golf course, including mowing, edging, trimming, and raking bunkers. Assist in maintaining the overall cleanliness and appearance of the course and surrounding areas.
• Equipment Operation: Operate equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and utility vehicles to perform maintenance tasks efficiently and safely. Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of equipment.
• Facility Support: Assist with the setup and takedown of golf tournaments, events, and member activities. Help maintain and organize golf carts, range balls, and other equipment used by members and guests.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Qualifications:

• Previous Experience: Prior experience in golf course maintenance, landscaping, or a related field is preferred but not required. Willingness to learn and perform various tasks associated with golf course operations.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in an outdoor environment, including lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and working in varying weather conditions.
• Attention to Detail: Strong observational skills and attention to detail to ensure the golf course and facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
• Self-starter: Ideal candidate will take ownership of work and be able to learn quickly.
• Professional Appearance: Maintain a neat and professional appearance while on site, adhering to the dress code guidelines of the golf course.
• Availability: Ideal schedule is 7:00 am to noon, Monday through Friday, but open to some flexibility if needed. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings as required.
