Reports To: Golf Course Manager - Starts 5/17/2025 (Weather Dependent)

Position Type: Part-Time, Seasonal, (Primarily Weekends and Holidays)

Job Summary:

Bear's Den Golf Course is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Starter/Ranger. The ideal candidate will ensure that golfers have an enjoyable experience by managing tee times, monitoring pace of play, and enforcing course rules and regulations. This position requires excellent customer service skills, a thorough understanding of golf course operations, and the ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tee Time Management: Coordinate and manage tee times, ensuring an efficient and timely start for all golfers.
• Customer Service: Greet golfers, provide information about the course, and assist with any questions or concerns.
• Pace of Play: Monitor the pace of play on the course, addressing any delays and ensuring that all groups maintain an appropriate speed.
• Course Rules Enforcement: Enforce golf course rules and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all players.
• Cart Management: Ensure carts are used and returned in accordance with rental agreement
• Course Conditions: Monitor and report on the condition of the course, including hazards, bunkers, and general maintenance needs.
• Safety and Etiquette: Ensure that golfers adhere to safety guidelines and golf etiquette.
• Communication: Liaise with the pro shop and course management to communicate any issues or updates regarding course conditions or play.
• Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise on the course in a professional and effective manner.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Golf: Strong understanding of golf rules, etiquette, and terminology.
• Customer Service Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and ensure that tee times and pace of play are adhered to.
• Problem-Solving: Capable of handling conflicts and issues with tact and professionalism.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to walk the course and be on your feet for extended periods.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in a golf course environment or a customer service role.
• Familiarity with golf course management software.
