About The Role, Your Impact
Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Construction Inspector/Technician II in our Janesville, WI, office. The Technician will support the firm’s construction group on a variety of projects ranging from roadways to underground utility installations. Additionally, this position will support the firm’s water department by assisting with the planning, design, and construction of a variety of facilities. This position will also offer the opportunity to work directly with firm clients.

About The Role, Your Impact
Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Construction Inspector/Technician II in our Janesville, WI, office. The Technician will support the firm’s construction group on a variety of projects ranging from roadways to underground utility installations. Additionally, this position will support the firm’s water department by assisting with the planning, design, and construction of a variety of facilities. This position will also offer the opportunity to work directly with firm clients.
What your day-to-day will look like, what you will learn on the job
- Quantity Computation.
- Construction Layout/Survey.
- Observe, measure and document construction activities.
- Assist project engineers and managers with a wide variety of tasks required during project delivery.
- General civil engineering and client service.
- Associate's degree in Structural/Architecture and/or Construction Management Technology desired or related field experience.
- 3 years of experience working as a Construction Inspector or Technician on construction projects.
- Effective communication, both oral and written, with residents, businesses and public agencies.
- Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area (own transportation).
- Work in a team environment.
- Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
- WisDOT and IDOT construction experience.
- Produce and edit engineering plans using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Prepare CAD plan sheet drawings.
