About Baxter’s Cleveland, MS Facility:Cleveland’s technology and automation are cutting edge. It is the U.S. sole source for plastic pour bottles, glass IV, and various reconstitution devices. This facility has a number of major product lines with a diverse array of automated manufacturing technologies ranging from bottle solution filling, injection molding, and device assembly.Our Cleveland plant has been an integral part of Baxter for over 60 years. Baxter encourages and values every employee and believes that all can make a contribution to advancing healthcare for patients; work to be proud of.JOB DESCRIPTION:The engineer must manage/implement projects related to plant facilities/utilities including but not limited to energy conservation, electricity, HVAC, process compressed air, steam, potable water, chilled water, pest control, and water for injection (WFI). This role also must ensure that these utilities are operating at the most cost-efficient level. Furthermore, this position must ensure all projects/areas of responsibility comply with local and Corporate specifications. This position will report to the Facility Engineering Manager.JOB DUTIES:Develop and maintain project schedulesUtilize the Building Management System (BMS) to track the plant environmental conditionsProvide trend reports generated from monitoring systems such as BMSImplement improvement projects for utilities and the facilityLead project teams and personnel as needed to accomplish project/area objectivesManage capital projects (develop and maintain schedule as well as estimate and hold to budget)Suggest and develop energy saving ideas and facility improvementsInterpret, modify, and improve building prints and utility drawingsUtilize business systems such as work order system, change control, validations, and corrective/preventive actionsUtilize cause mapping techniques for problem solvingProgram utility controls/monitoring systems using industrial processor (Allen-Bradley) and Scada systemsFacilitate appropriate maintenance training for facility employees including but not limited to safety, cGMPs, jobskills, JIB’s, etc.Assure work orders and PM’s are performed in an efficient manner and reported as requiredAnalyze, propose, and correct longer-term solutions to existing and repeating problemsInspect, monitor, assess and assure the facility and equipment remains cGMP compliant and in a constant state of audit readinessAssist in the procurement and installation of new equipmentSupport all environmental, health and safety programs, as well as all other plant activitiesSupport all plant activities, i.e. VIP, TPM, 6-S, energy teams, plant growth and developmentQUALIFICATIONS:Must have demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to interface well with personnel of all levelsMust be able to work and facilitate a team-oriented environmentMust possess problem solving skills utilizing cause mappingMust have strong communication skills (both verbal and written)Must have demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing setting and prioritize responsibilitiesMust have the ability to analyze and interpret scientific and statistical dataMust have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Office applicationsLean Manufacturing and 6s experience are preferredMust be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.Must be able to work in controlled environment requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet, and bodyMay be required to work or be assigned to a different shift as neededMust be able to work overtime as requiredAbility to climb laddersAbility to bend/stoopAbility to reach above the shoulderAbility to maneuver around tight spacesAbility to sit, stand and/or walk for long periods of timeWorking knowledge of facility utilities such as steam, potable water, chilled water, cooling water, HVAC, and compressed gases is preferredWorking knowledge of energy conservation is preferredEDUCATION and or EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in engineering Required (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical degrees are preferred)1 years Engineering experience preferred.
