Provides assistance to ALC manager with MOW and senior activities at the Center as well as cleaning as needed (Colonial Beach, VA). Pay rate: $12.00/hr. Title V Program Enrollee: Individuals 55 , currently unemployed, seeking training or on the job experience and meeting income guidelines, are eligible to apply.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Follow the scheduled activities.
- Monitor participants for their safety at all times.
- Keep clients active and engaged as they participate in crafts, fitness, and projects as directed by ALC staff.
- Assist with Active Lifestyle Center operations
- Perform site setup and clean up duties (cleaning bathrooms, sweeping floors, mopping, window care, putting up stock, etc.).
- Assist in preparing meals and snacks, set table, serve clients, dishwashing, and clean up after meals.
- Maintain supplies in neat, organized manner.
- Assist Meals on Wheels.
- Complete paperwork as instructed.
DECISION MAKING
Perform tasks as assigned and work under close supervision throughout the day.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be 55 years of age and older.
- High School diploma or GED.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Works at the Active Lifestyle Center. Physical requirements include the ability to lift 15lbs, walking, and climbing stairs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Must have willingness to learn and practice Active Lifestyle Center and Bay Aging policies and procedures and regulations.
- Attend training sessions as needed.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of cleaning protocols, materials, and equipment.
FLSA status: This is a non-exempt position.
