Description
A highly organized and self-motivated problem solver to support Community Living Programs with a special emphasis on the Veteran Directed Care (VDC) Program. Requires demonstrated excellent writing, interpersonal customer service (telephone and in-person) and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Essential functions
- Routine contact with VA Medical Centers, clients and fiscal staff.
- Assist with missing timesheets or timesheet issues for VDC program.
- Assist new Options Counselor with software training.
- Assist with electronic timesheet system.
- Prepare new enrollment packets for clients.
- Prepare and follow up on written Veteran requests, case closings, needed authorizations for VDC program, initial billing and referral management.
- Perform data entry.
- Provide assistance to Community Living Programs Director with all administrative aspects of the program as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Has knowledge of:
- HIPPA regulations.
- Microsoft Office programs (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, e-mail). Other computer programs as related to job performance.
- General Medicaid & Medicare eligibility criteria.
- Bay Aging corporate policies and procedures.
- Use of agency data base systems-training provided, as needed.
- Stays current in the knowledge of the profession, community resources, and funding opportunities available to seniors and disabled adults. Utilizes knowledge in advocacy of client needs.
- Maintains certifications and other training as required under agency policies or as mandated by program guidelines
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Office-based position with minimal physical requirements (ability to lift 15lbs, walking and climbing stairs). Requires regular independent travel around the area served by Bay Aging. Approximately 20% of the essential functions of the position can be performed remotely.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree preferred or high school diploma with at least 3 years of experience working in the human services, or general case management field. Must possess valid Virginia Driver’s License.
FLSA status: This is a full-time non-exempt position.
