Position: Academic Tutor - After-School Literacy
Location: Brooktree Elementary School, Berryessa Union School District, San Jose, CA

Program Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring.
- Assist students with their homework and classwork.
- Create a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere that inspires a love for learning.
- Apply effective teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Communicate students’ progress to the program coordinators.
- Follow program guidelines and protocols.
Ideal Candidate:
- Passionate about supporting the academic success of children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Previous experience working with elementary students is preferred, as well as a basic understanding of literacy development.
- Reliable transportation is necessary.
Program Details:
- Location: Brooktree Elementary School, 1781 Olivetree Dr, San Jose, CA 95131
- Schedule:
- Monday: At a different site.
- Tuesday to Friday: 2:45 PM - 4:45 PM.
- Program Duration: 14 weeks.
- Group Size: Small groups or individualized sessions.
- Training: Includes approximately 14 hours of mandatory professional development.
