Tutor - Middle School ELA Tutor - August Boeger
Location: August Boeger Middle School, 1944 Flint Ave., San Jose, CA
Position Summary:
We are seeking enthusiastic and patient individuals to serve as tutors for middle school students at August Boeger Middle School. Tutors will provide one-on-one or small group tutoring in English Language Arts (ELA), focusing on:
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to middle school students in ELA.
- Assist students with homework, class assignments, and test preparation.
- Develop and implement engaging and effective tutoring sessions.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students and program staff.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress.
- Participate in tutor trainings and staff meetings as needed.
- Adhere to all school policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Experience tutoring or working with youth preferred.
- Strong academic skills in English Language Arts.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Schedule:
- 3 days per week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
- 6 hours per day
- Available shifts: 8:30am - 2:30pm

- BATA onboarding requirements (Background check, online training, TB Scan)
