What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server Assistant/Food Runner position at Bay Colony Golf Club?
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for setting up and breaking down the dining room for both lunch and dinner service by properly placing china, glassware and silver on the tables. Incumbent will also set up tables for banquet and parties and will clear dishes after the meal as well as provide initial beverage and water service.
HOURS/DAYS
Hours and days fluctuate according to the wants and needs of the members and guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and maintain cleanliness an organization of all Food Service stations
- Be able to read and organize chits as they arrive at kitchen
- Communicate effectively with kitchen as intermediary between servers and kitchen staff
- Delivery of Food to guests following Bay Colony Standard
- Attend any food and beverage meetings.
- Server Assistant is required to perform each task in a professional and friendly manner.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Project a friendly and helpful attitude to all members and guests of the club.
- Carries dirty dishes from dining room to kitchen.
- Wipes table tops and chairs with damp sanitizing cloth
- Sweeps and mops floors as necessary.
- Set up and break down dining room for lunch and dinner service; set up tables by setting the proper china, napkins, glassware, and silver on the tables.
- Pour water at the table. Serve water and bread to guests.
- Ensure tables are set up according to floor plan
- Greet guest and converse with them in a professional manner
- Refill bread and butter during dinner service, as requested
- Refill water during service
- Clear all tables during lunch and dinner service
- Assist in the total breakdown of the dining room at the end of a shift and then reset for the following shift.
- Advises Management of any complaints.
- Performs opening, clean-up and closing duties.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must have the ability to read, write and reason at the 8th grade level. Minimum 3 months experience food running in a fine dining setting required.
