Summary: As the CFO, you will oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting and the monthly close process while managing a small team and partnering with the CEO to grow the business. You should be both tactical and strategic and must be willing to get your hands dirty. Additionally, you must be someone who likes fixing and building processes as we are growing and looking for someone to help us take the next step.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as a close business partner of the CEO contributing to the development of the strategic plan and the execution against that plan.
- Oversee daily operation of the accounting department.
- Direct and oversee the month end close functions of the company by preparing and reviewing journal entries and performing and reviewing quarterly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Create and maintain annual budgets and multi-year forecast and perform analysis of budget/forecast variances and financial trends.
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Direct the treasury services for the organization including daily/weekly/monthly cash forecasting.
- Monitor financial covenants with parent company and prepare quarterly compliance reports.
- Manage financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
- Provide analysis and insight with respect to business trends, financial statements, and key performance metrics; assist in the evaluation of acquisitions or other strategic initiatives at the direction of the CEO or the Board.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree mandatory and Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience and high preference for someone who has previously been a CFO
- Experience working for a $40M manufacturing company
- Must have worked in a high growth environment
- Capable of being a strategic partner to the CEO
- Strong sense of urgency with a focus on results while holding others accountable for the same
