Position Summary
The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for assisting in the administration the daily prevention, assessment, and treatment of injuries and illnesses. Above all, this individual will help execute effective and efficient operations and provide a positive and highly professional experience for all players and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivers world-class, evidence-informed healthcare to players including first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, application of appropriate modalities and prevention programs, and scheduling of medical referrals.
- Attends all practice sessions, home games, away games and scrimmages, as directed
- Applies and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions using evidence-based practices to guide decisions
- Electronically documents accurate first report of injury, physician diagnosis, player assessments, player treatments, and return to play dates.
- Works collaboratively with performance staff to design and implement programs to reduce the risk of injury and illness.
- Complies with OSHA standards regarding blood-borne pathogens.
- Keeps athletic training room and other areas safe, clean, and organized.
- Maintains a complete and up-to-date roster of player health and participation records in the League’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Assists in the completion of insurance/Workers’ Compensation claims for players.
- Complies with all League medical policies and protocols.
- Abides by all local, state, and federal laws and regulations specific to their profession, codes, and standards of their governing bodies, must follow all applicable League Rules and Team policies
- Attends all activities/meetings/programs as required by the League.
- Attends activities/meetings/programs to maintain professional license(s) and continually improve the level of healthcare services delivered to the players
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) and in good standing with the BOC
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an athletic trainer after receiving BOC certification working in collegiate or professional environments
- Experience working in a professional women’s sporting environment preferred
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Personal liability insurance
- High degree of personal integrity, professionalism, supporting club culture, values, and objectives
- Strong cross-departmental collaborator with an excitement for working in a start-up environment
Compensation: Salary range of $80,000-$90,000; actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position such as experience and skill level.
