Bay Medical Management LLC (BMMLLC) is a medical services organization (MSO) headquartered in Walnut Creek, CA. The organization provides administrative and management services to Bay Imaging Consultants Medical Group (BIC) who is the premier radiology group in Northern California.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
BMMLLC is seeking a part-time 80% - 32 hours per week Health Information Services Technician to perform teleradiology support for BIC Radiologists. This is a night position that includes weekends and some holidays. Work hours are Thursday - Sunday 11:00pm – 7:30am. You can expect to work 80% remote after successful completion of the first 90 days of onsite training in Walnut Creek. The Health Information Services Technician coordinates incoming radiology exams to facilitate efficient review and reporting by the radiologist and dissemination of the results to the appropriate clinical staff and physicians. Using multiple computer systems, the Health Information Services Technician inputs and retrieves patient information from stored databases as well as provides telephone support for all facilities, support staff, clinicians, and radiologists regarding radiologist services.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Monitor worklists and filters within the appropriate BIC and hospital-based systems.
· Send all preliminary radiology reports to Imaging Departments, ER, IP units, urgent care, and other clinics via Fax and/or PACSscan. Call IP units to verify receipt of radiology reports.
· Answer and prioritize multiple incoming calls and distribute to radiologists as needed. Initiate phone calls for radiologist as requested.
· Consistently and proactively monitor and respond to email and instant messaging on multiple platforms including Intelerad, Sectra, Chat Bunker, and Clario.
· Liaison between radiologists, sites and the internal BMMI IT department. Contact Bay Medical and Hospital IT staff when needed.
· Pulls patient’s prior images and records into Intelerad, utilizing multiple systems.
· Perform variety of clerical tasks, including copying, filing, and faxing.
· Uses multiple computer systems to input, retrieve and print patient information.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Some college preferred
- Prior experience working in a hospital emergency or radiology department setting preferred.
- Medical terminology preferred.
- Excellent computer/keyboard skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to multi-task and work in a high pace clinical/hospital environment
