We specialize in supplying our manufactured products to the wood-to-wood construction industry, rods used in seismic and wind tie-down systems, and straight and bent anchors into concrete. We specialize in supplying domestically manufactured threaded rods and anchor bolts to the construction industry.
Bay Standard Manufacturing East LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bay Standard Manufacturing, Inc., is seeking a full-time maintenance mechanic for our new thread-rolling facility in Kendallville, Indiana.
You must be available to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
The qualified candidate will require a background as a shop maintenance mechanic with experience maintaining, rebuilding, and repairing manufacturing equipment. Experience with thread rolling equipment is ideal but not necessary.
Essential Job Functions:
· Equipment Installation – Assist in installing new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper setup and operation according to the directions of the Plant Manager.
· Trouble Shooting and Repair – Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues in equipment. Repair or replace defective parts, such as motors, pumps, and bearings.
· Welding and Fabrication – Perform welding and fabrication tasks for repairs or modifications as needed.
· Preventive Maintenance – Perform regular inspections on machinery to prevent breakdowns. This includes lubricating moving parts, replacing worn components, and conducting routine checks.
· Collaboration – Work closely with production staff to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operation. Communicate effectively to understand equipment issues and production needs.
· Emergency Response – Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime. Assess situations quickly and implement effective solutions.
· Inventory Management – Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, including thread rolling dies. Order parts as necessary to ensure timely repairs.
· Safety Compliance - Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. This includes using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tagout procedures.
Qualifications:
· High School Graduate or equivalent.
· Relevant Work Experience - Previous experience in maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or steel fabrication environment.
· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair equipment issues.
· Welding and fabrication skills.
· Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and their maintenance.
· Team player with attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
· Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
