What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic position at Valbruna Group?
Founded in 1925 and a leader in the production of Stainless Steels, Nickel Alloys and Titanium Long products, Valbruna is a private company with 2,700 employees and an annual output of approx. 250,000 tons of specialty steels. Production is primarily focused on Stainless Steels and Specialty Alloys, available in blooms and billets, ingots, round, square, flat, hexagonal and angle bars, wire rod, wire, reinforcement bars and threaded rods, with the expressed goal of satisfying the most sophisticated needs of the customer. To that end, Valbruna is constantly updating its production capabilities and experience.
- Inspect, repair, install, adjust, maintain, fabricate, lubricate, lay out and assemble all mechanical equipment in assigned area.
- Dismantle and move heavy equipment.
- Perform all types of welding, brazing, and cutting on an type of metal using gas and electrical welding equipment.
- Lay out, install, maintain, and repair all types of pipelines, fittings, and fixtures.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and test air, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components including steam and acid applications, boilers and air compressors. Perform PVC and other types of plastic welding.
- Perform rough carpenter work as required.
- Requires the capability to learn to inspect, repair, install, fabricate, adjust, maintain, layout, and assemble all mechanical equipment in producing unit or assigned area.
- Reason through repair problems, determine causes of failures and corrective steps necessary to return equipment to operating condition.
- Use craft tools in a wide variety of tasks involving close tolerances.
- Use welding equipment as assigned.
- Responsible for continuity of equipment operations.
- Perform assigned maintenance work.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
