RBTs work with individuals with Autism and other Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDDs) to reduce challenging behaviors, increase functional skills, and foster independence and individuality.
As a School-Based ABA Therapist, you will:
- Work directly with students in the classroom, following the established service plan.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients and school teams. Respect the values, thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes of clients and families.
- Implement behavior therapy techniques and collaborate with teachers to support the student in the classroom environment.
- Document interventions and progress towards goals.
- Collect behavior data as specified in client behavior plan.
- Provide training, instruction, and assistance to help the student acquire and maintain skills and meet identified goals.
- Provide support to the client in interpersonal skills, development, and maintenance of personal relationships, and building independence in their school routine.
- Support school age children to succeed with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
