BayCare Health Systems is currently seeking a Mental Health Technician III to join our outstanding and compassionate team!
Mental Health Technician III Position Details:
- Facility: BayCare Health System, Behavioral Health Pedi-NBBH
- Location: Morton Plant North Bay Hospital
- Status: Full Time, Exempt: No
- Shift Hours: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
- Weekend Work: Every Other
- On Call: No
The Mental Health Technician III Responsibilities:
- Provides direct patient care to psychiatric patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Performs a leadership role amongst other Mental Health Technicians through communication, education and mentoring of team members.
- Ensures that the team is consistently monitoring and observing patients to ensure safety and well-being.
- Promotes effective communication and therapeutic relationships with patients and team members.
- Maintains and ensures appropriate boundaries with patients and team at all times.
- Promotes coordination of the unit by assisting with patient needs during entire length of stay in collaboration with the treatment team.
- Demonstrates flexibility in assignments to meet the needs of the facility.
Required Certification/Licensures:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred
- Patient Care Technician - preferred
Required Education:
- High School or Equivalent
- Master's degree in related field- Preferred
Required Experience:
- 2 years of experience – Psychology or Master's degree in related field
