The Director is the principal manager of the Human Resources and Employee Health & Wellness departments serving the entities that constitute the Bayley Campuses. The service mission of these departments is to provide expert consultation and assistance on HR management issues; coordinate employee recruiting, disciplinary action, grievance, and termination processes; maintain HR management data system (Paylocity); advise managers and employees on regulatory and policy compliance; administer employee benefit programs; coordinate employee orientation and in-service education; coordinate safety programming; manage work injury cases and BWC compliance; protect the health and well-being of employees and residents by performing employee testing and screening services; providing first aid for work injuries; monitoring work injury cases including return to work testing; maintaining employee health records. With respect to this service mission, the Director plans, organizes, and manages routine operations as well as special projects and developmental programs; sets department policy and operating procedures; determines staffing requirements, skill mix, and schedules; prepares budgets and manages expenses; selects products and vendors; consults, assists, and responds to management on service priorities and methods.

- Stay abreast of trends and developments in the field. Identify and recommend changes that will add value to Campus operations.
- Develop policies, procedures, and work methods that produce a consistent level of service quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify and apply creative solutions to issues and situations that adversely affect service delivery.
STAFF ACCOUNTABILITY
- Define work roles and responsibilities for all departmental staff positions.
- Define daily staffing requirements in terms of staff numbers and skill mix.
- Recruit, train, and develop personnel with the skills and work ethic needed to fulfill service mission. Effectively motivate staff to become competent, conscientious, and productive contributors to the service mission.
- Manage staff fairly and consistently in keeping with Campus HR Policies. Provide regular and constructive feedback on job performance, and address performance deficiencies in a timely and responsible manner.
RESOURCE ACCOUNTABILITY
- Prepare and recommend annual capital and operating budgets consistent with service mission and approved budget guidelines.
- Manage operations to meet or exceed approved budget targets.
- Identify and apply creative solutions to issues and situations related to resource limitations.
- Monitor and document department performance in terms of operational and financial metrics and industry benchmarks.
LEADERSHIP

Educational Attainment • Associate degree or equivalent college or professional education in HR administration • Bachelor degree in HR administration or relevant field
