Labor Distribution Accountant / Sr Labor Distribution Accountant

What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking a Labor Distribution Accountant or Sr Labor Distribution Accountant to support the mission and vision of Baylor University and serve within the College of Arts & Sciences. This position will assist the Business officer in implementing plans, initiatives, strategies and opportunities to support the College of A&S in meeting and measuring strategic plan goals. This position will be vital in working collaboratively with the Business Officer to provide planning, financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and monitoring the accuracy and completeness of fiscal information while examining revenue and expenditure trends and spend rates.

Labor Distribution Accountant Requirements –
An Associate Degree and two years of relevant work experience are required. An Associate Degree and three years of relevant work experience are preferred. A combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of the required degree and/or years of experience. 

Senior Labor Distribution Accountant Requirements – 
A Bachelor’s Degree and five years of relevant work experience are required. A Bachelor’s Degree, CPA, and six years of relevant work experience are preferred. A combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of the required degree and/or years of experience. 

Applications must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

• Coordinate proper costing of payroll action according to information received from home department or other authority
• Determine action budgeted and evaluating action is appropriate to enter information into Labor Distribution module for Baylor's financial system
• Manage payroll actions, worksheets and schedules, including facilitating mass uploads into Ignite
• Effectively communicate and collaborate to gather and organize information from large and varied group of individuals, in various departments
• Provide guidance on appropriate policies, procedures and internal controls
• Ensure departmental accounts are reconciled timely and accurately, coordinating appropriate resolutions, and communicating are critical for ensuring results appropriately to ensure accuracy of the compensation process
• Attending and conducting meetings with client groups, stakeholders, and leadership frequently
• Actively seek knowledge on frequently evolving payroll rules, regulations, and laws, to be implemented into action.
• Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
• Ability to comply with university policies
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance

The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is listed below: 

• Labor Distribution Accountant:  $65,000 - $75,000. The full salary range for this position classification is $65,000 - $75,000.
• Senior Labor Distribution Accountant:  $80,000 - $90,000. The full salary range for this position classification is $80,000 - $90,000.

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certification, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.
