What We Are Looking For
The Department of Human Sciences and Design at Baylor University is seeking an Office Manager to provide high-level administrative support, contributing to the department's smooth and efficient operation. This position plays a vital role in coordinating logistics and scheduling, assisting with communications, and facilitating administrative processes that support departmental leadership, faculty, and academic programs. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, effectively balancing multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of professionalism with a solutions-oriented approach.
An Associate's degree, two years of relevant experience, and an active Christian faith are required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
- Provide high-level administrative support to the department chair and associate chair, including assisting with department communications and correspondence, preparing reports, and scheduling.
- Oversee logistics for departmental meetings, including room reservations and preparations, note-taking and meeting documentation, follow-up communications, and other coordination.
- Assist with hiring faculty, part-time instructors, graduate assistants, and student workers, including onboarding and payroll coordination.
- Oversee student worker schedules and tasks.
- Support undergraduate and graduate program directors with lab fees, scheduling, and personnel-related tasks.
- Assist faculty with administrative needs, including course materials, travel arrangements, and other department-related business.
- Assist with budget management processes in coordination with the College Finance and Operations Team, reviewing and processing departmental invoices and purchase card activity.
- Assist with course scheduling and classroom allocation in coordination with faculty, department leadership, and University scheduling offices.
- Uphold and promote a professional environment, demonstrating a commitment to Baylor's mission.
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.
- Ability to comply with University policies.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
